In a lot of ways I feel like "The Threshing Floor" was completely organic. I actually went to middle school with the subject, as well as high school, but when Tim's drug use went from bad to worst I wrote him off as a lost cause. It didn't even cross my mind that it could be turned around for him. Like a lot of people, I was unfortunately caught in the stigma that there is no coming back from heroin addiction, and that would likely be his life now.

I didn't see him for 15 years, and when we reconnected he was a different guy, he wasn't just sober he had an amazing life he had built. It blew my mind how far transformed someone could be. He started telling me stories and I just wanted to know more, and corroborate, and press in, and all the sudden we were making a film.

I truly believe people out there will feel their voice heard by this film, because we aren't just raising awareness, but trying to offer solutions from people who have been there. As well as offering hope that no one, absolutely no one, is too far gone. It's a story about healing, and hope, and the human experience.
